Kitchen Design

Remodeling your kitchen is an exciting, if not daunting, task. It is a unique opportunity to change what you are unhappy with and include what you've always wanted.

The kitchen is without doubt the most used room in the home, but in too many cases poor layout and outdated styles make it both inefficient and unattractive.  Today's modern kitchen is the true heart of the home. It is the place where cooking, eating, planning, homework, family communications, entertaining and socializing all happen.

If you're like many homeowners you're more than aware of the shortcomings of your kitchen and have already spent time dreaming of a new kitchen. Remodeling a kitchen is not to be taken lightly. The cost of remodeling a kitchen can be quite a financial investment. Space too is often limited. Renovation time can often put a strain on the family. Therefore planning is vital. Just as with making a meal, prep work has its pay off when a kitchen design comes together.

Here are some tips, ideas and more information on how to create the ideal kitchen - in form and function.

Layout/Design

Kitchen DesignConsider your lifestyle. Think about how you will move around in your kitchen. Analyze your storage needs. Factor in your dream appliances. Weigh in environmental considerations such as materials consumption and energy utilization. Make decisions that will maximize the efficiency of the space available.

We will personally work with you to achieve the dream kitchen you've always wanted. Whether it is cozy and relaxing, sleek and modern, or ergonomic and functional, we will customize a design plan to fit your style, budget, and schedule.

All Phase Remodeling has an open/welcoming approach to design. We believe there is a little designer in all of us.  Over time we have discovered that there are many approaches to the design process, but most will fall into the following three categories.

  1. Home owner designed project: This is where you the home owner have your own vision of what you would like to see.
  2. All Phase Remodeling designed project: This is where we put together a complete design for you from scratch.
  3. Home owner/ All Phase Remodeling collaboration: This is by far our favorite! In this scenario, we will meet to discuss your objectives, from there we will come up with a working layout/design, from which we will enlist you to start sourcing the specific materials and colors, of which we can help guide you.

Style

Kitchen DesignToday, the options available in kitchen design, or kitchen remodeling are limitless. Whether you prefer traditional, country, rustic, Tuscan, urban or modern, you can choose from an array of colors and styles for your countertops, backsplashes, and cabinetry. Whether you're envisioning a clean, airy all-white look, or a rich cherry wood tone, we have the style you want. All Phase Remodeling Inc can transform your house into your dream home and improve your kitchen's décor to increase your home's value. We will make your kitchen an efficient, enjoyable place to spend time in and give you a fresh new look that fits in with your style, decor, taste, and budget.

Cabinet

A good chunk of the average cost of kitchen remodeling goes toward the cabinets. Once you have decided on the color, material and style for your kitchen, you will need to consider if custom, semi-custom or stock cabinetry will best suit your needs and budget.

Incorporating storage and organizing solutions into your cabinets are essential, especially when it comes to small kitchen remodeling.

Hardware

There is a beautiful array of hardware options, from various manufactures, that go beyond kitchen knobs and drawer pulls. There are specialized soft closing drawer systems, hinges that are concealed. Each distinct cabinet design functions well with different hardware pieces.

Even if you are doing an minor kitchen remodel and are not replacing your cabinets, just changing the hardware can give your kitchen a a real finished look. New knobs can really pull your whole kitchen design together.

Countertops

Want to update your kitchen from ordinary to extraordinary? New custom kitchen countertops will give your kitchen a new look that you'll love. All Phase remodeling Inc  offers a range of countertop options from which to choose. A countertop needs to be durable, stain-resistant, easy to clean and attractive. We can assist you in choosing the perfect countertop for your kitchen needs.

Natural quartz countertops require little or no maintenance. The smooth, durable surfaces resist heat, scratching, bacteria and stains. There are several manufacturers with the most prominent being Silestone and Caesarstone.

Granite and Marble countertops provide a heat and water resistant surface with a rich visual texture. Natural stone slabs come in variety of colors and patterns, allowing for a true one-of-a-kind look.

Wood countertops have seen a resurgence in recent years. Today, wood's presence is extending beyond the traditional butcher block into custom countertops throughout the kitchen - especially islands and eating areas.

Wood can be both contemporary and antique, and may be the only surface material that looks better the older it gets.  It gives kitchen countertops and bathroom vanities a quality, prestigious look that never goes out of style.

Kitchen Islands

Kitchen islands are practical for an open floor plan and allow for bar seating. They can house the dishwasher and a sink for a great clean up zone or the kitchen range, microwave and warming drawers for a terrific prep and cooking area. Islands also offer additional storage, a spot for a wine rack or an area for a recycling center. Designing your kitchen island with a multi-level counter enables you to hide kitchen mess. Putting marble or granite on just the raised portion of the island is a cheaper way to showcase an expensive kitchen counter material.

Kitchen Lighting

Lighter and brighter is always a winning combination in most rooms, but it's a slam dunk in the kitchen.   The kitchen is a task-oriented space yet the average kitchen operates with one central light on the ceiling.  Under-cabinet lighting and stylish pendant lights are vastly superior to that outdated standard.  Add dimmer controls wherever possible for maximum flexibility and ability to change lighting levels for different purposes.  Always try to make your windows the biggest possible, especially if you can find storage elsewhere.  Add skylights to fill the room with healthful natural light, plus more ventilation.  Furthermore, skylights don't take up precious wall space like vertical windows, leaving you more space for shelves and cabinetry.   All in all, the beauty and style of natural light can't be beaten.

Flooring

Kitchen flooring has the ability to set the mood for the entire room. Stone or ceramic tiles evoke a Mediterranean-like feeling of old-world charm and sun-dappled terraces, while wood gives the feeling of period harmony where simple lines and earth-friendly tones are used. Unexpected materials such as cork and concrete set the stage for other cutting-edge ideas. Choosing the right kitchen  flooring is critical to the overall setting you are looking to create.

Ventilation

One of the most important but frequently overlooked aspects of kitchen design is ventilation. In the last few years, downdraft systems have become more efficient, and custom hoods or surrounds for updraft systems have become design elements in their own right. Venting cooking odors, grease, and smoke quietly, efficiently, and attractively is one of many important factors in your kitchen remodel!

So whether you are looking to do a simple update or you are interested in completely renovating your kitchen, All Phase Remodeling Inc can help you every step of they way.
